Mutsuo Minegawa

Japan’s version of Hoyt Wilhelm or Roy Face, Minegawa was mostly a reliever but could start when necessary. He specialized in a submarine curve, delivered with precise control. From 1956 through 1966, he never had a losing record or an ERA over 2.91. Eight times he pitched at least 50 games, usually working close to 200 innings. At his best, he went 19-7 (1.97) in 1961.
