Ed Morgan

Playing out of position in the outfield in 1929, Morgan fielded only .908 but hit .318. Made the Indians’ regular first baseman in 1930, he slugged .601 (tied for fifth in the AL) with 26 HR and 47 doubles (tied for third), all career highs, while hitting .349 (he did lead the AL with 66 strikeouts). He hit a career-high .351 in 1931, walking 83 times as well, but his power gradually dropped off over the rest of his career. He led AL first basemen in errors twice and putouts once.
