Pat Moran

During his playing days, Moran was mostly a backup catcher, but he had the highest HR percentage in the NL as a 1903 Boston Beaneater (Brave), with seven homers in 389 at-bats. A successful manager, he led the 1915 Phillies to a pennant in his first try, and he was the Reds’ skipper for their 1919 World Series victory over the Black Sox.
