A consistent singles-hitter, the 5’7″ Moore replaced Rabbit Maranville in 1925 as second baseman for the Pirates, hit .298 in the leadoff spot, and helped Pittsburgh win the World Championship. To make room for a high-priced bust named Hal Rhyne, Moore was sold to the Braves in 1926. He remained as a valuable utility man for seven more ML seasons.
