Myatt was a speedy basestealer, hence the nickname Mercury. A steady hitter with little power, he played sparingly with the Giants in 1938-39, was sent to the minors, and returned as a wartime regular with the Senators. He was the Phillies’ interim manager for two games in 1968 and for the last 54 games of 1969.
