Muser was a good defensive first baseman whose best season offensively came in 1973 with the White Sox, when he hit .285 with career highs of four HR, 30 RBI, and 38 runs in 309 at-bats. That July 3, he walked five times in a game to tie the AL record. He became a Brewers coach after finishing his career with them.
