Although Cain had three respectable seasons in a row (1950-52) while pitching for three different second-division teams, he is most remembered for the base on balls he issued to pinch-hitting midget Eddie Gaedel in 1951. Two other noteworthy games: he shut out the Yankees in his first ML start, and in 1952 he matched one-hitters with Bob Feller and won, 1-0.
