The Virginian was the 25th player on the Tigers’ 1968 championship squad. After the expansion draft, Comer took advantage of the friendly confines of Seattle’s Sicks Stadium for 15 home runs and also stole 18 bases. A trade to Washington and a loss of power ended his career.
