Ralph Hodgin

Hodgin batted .314 for the 1943 White Sox, but became one of the few players to bat .300 as a rookie but never repeat the feat. On April 21, 1947 he suffered a concussion when a fastball from Tiger ace Hal Newhouser glanced off his skull. After that he lost his aggressiveness at the plate.
