After hitting .278 with 27 HR and 93 RBI in 1969, the career of this promising hitter ended at age 25 the following year when a batting slump and booing fans led to such emotional distress that he had to be hospitalized. Horton hit three homers for Cleveland on May 24, 1970, but was reportedly upset because the Indians lost when he failed to hit a fourth.
