Chick Galloway

Galloway was the Athletics’ everyday shortstop in 1921-26. His playing days ended when a pitch thrown by Haskell Billings in batting practice fractured his skull. A Presbyterian College (SC) grad, he returned to coach there, and later scouted for the Reds, A’s, and Braves.
