Bruce Edwards

A solid catcher with warning track power, Edwards hit .295 for Brooklyn in 1947 and led NL catchers that year in putouts and double plays. Following the season, the 5’8″ 180-lb Bull hurt his arm throwing during an exhibition game against the inmates at Folsom Prison. His damaged arm and the emergence of Roy Campanella put him on the bench for the rest of his career.
