Joe Foy

Foy was TSN Minor League Player of the Year and International League MVP in 1965. A hustling infielder with fair home run power, he twice led AL third basemen in double plays while with Boston but also twice led them in errors. The World Champion Mets traded the promising Amos Otis to secure Foy as their regular third baseman in 1970, but his skills eroded prematurely, due in part to a substance abuse problem.
