Tomio Fujimura

Fujimura was a Japanese slugger, a macho WWII veteran who disdained the use of a glove and refused the opportunity to switch teams for more money. He raised the single-season Japanese home run record from 25 to 45 in 1949. He also briefly held the national record for single-season batting average, hitting .362 in 1950. His career total of 224 HR was a Japanese record when he retired.
