Dauvray Cup

In 1887 Giants shortstop Monte Ward’s wife, actress Helen Dauvray, donated a cup that would be held by the winner of the yearly postseason series between the National League and American Association champions, a series which had been played (with one interruption) since 1882. The Cup would become the property of whichever team won it three times. However, the war between the leagues in 1891 resulted in an end to postseason play before any team had won three series. The Cup has been lost.
