Arthur Daley

A graduate of Fordham, Daley joined the New York Times in 1926. Ten years later he covered the Olympics in Berlin, the first Times sportswriter to get a foreign assignment. In 1942 he began 31 years as a columnist for the Times, and, in 1956, became the first sportswriter to win a Pulitzer Prize. Daley’s books include The Story of the Olympic Games (with John Kieran) and Times at Bat.
