Ken Dixon

Dixon looked to have a long future with the Orioles after his 8-4 (3.67) rookie 1985 season. He had a 90-mph fastball and a major league curve. But after being hit hard in 1987, falling to 7-10 (6.43), he was dealt to Seattle for Mike Morgan in a trade of two disappointing righthanders. The Mariners were unhappy with Dixon’s velocity when they released him in spring training of 1988. Dixon filed a grievance against the club, saying he was released after he hurt his shoulder that spring. The Mariners said Dixon was injured before joining them.
