John Katoll

The 6’4″ 200-lb Big Jack won 16 games, including six shutouts, for the 1900 White Sox when the AL was still a minor league. On August 21, 1901, he threw a baseball at umpire Jack Haskell, instigating a brawl in which Haskell’s lip was split by Chicago shortstop Frank Shugart. Both Katoll and Shugart were arrested and then suspended.
