Walt Williams

The 5’6″ 185-lb Williams was fast early in his career. But by the time he became a regular in 1969 with the powerless White Sox, he was no longer stealing bases. Although he hit a career-high .304 that year, he hit only three HR and didn’t walk much. He hit eight HR twice (1971, 1973), and fielded flawlessly in 1971. Traded to the Indians after 1972 for infielder Eddie Leon, after one season he was sent on to the Yankees in a three-way deal that brought Jim Perry to Cleveland.
