Mike Kingery

Six-and-a-half seasons in the minors as a non-drafted free agent earned Kingery spot duty in the outfield for the 1986 Royals, and he hit safely in each of his first nine games. After the season, he was traded with Scott Bankhead and Steve Shields to Seattle for Danny Tartabull.

In 1987, his first full major league season, Kingery hit .280 and played excellent, hustling defense, leading Mariner outfielders in assists with 15. His average fell off to .203 in 1988, however, and a crowd of young, talented, Seattle outfielders pushed him back to the minors.

After brief stints with the Giants and Athletics, Kingery signed with the Rockies in 1994 and had his best offensive season, batting .349 in 105 games. His production fell in subsequent years and he retired just two seasons later.
