Mark Redman

A hard-throwing southpaw who got Rookie of the Year consideration in 2000 with a 12-9 record, Redman was primed to join Brad Radke and Eric Milton as a permanent member of the Minnesota Twins‘ rotation in 2001. But after succumbing early that year to a strained triceps, he was traded to the Detroit Tigers for reliever Todd Jones in late July. After he left the Twins, his former manager Tom Kelly questioned Redman’s motivation, saying “he seemed very comfortable sitting in the clubhouse, doing a little work, playing cards.”
