Hal Rhyne

Rhyne broke in as the Pirates’ second baseman, but illness limited his role in the team’s 1927 year. The Red Sox’ shortstop in 1929-31, Rhyne hit only .203 in 1930, the greatest hitter’s year ever, but batted a surprising .273 the next year.
