Jim Tabor

The rough hewn Tabor had 95 RBI as a Red Sox rookie in 1939 but was overshadowed that year by another Red Sox freshman, Ted Williams. In a 1940 game against the Browns, Williams, Jimmie Foxx, and Joe Cronin hit consecutive homers, Bobby Doerr tripled, and then Tabor hit the fourth homer in five batters. His 21 homers in 1940 and 101 RBI in 1941 were career highs.
