Frank Tepedino

Many thought Tepedino, a top Yankee prospect, had one of the sweetest swings in baseball, but most reports said “good hit, no field.” He played only 52 games in five trials with New York, who dealt him to Atlanta in 1973. Tepedino’s response to the trade: “I’ll never understand why I didn’t get a shot with the Yankees. I have a career average of .270, but they said I couldn’t hit.”
