Andres Thomas

Finally taking over the Atlanta Braves shortstop job on an everyday basis in 1988 after injuries in 1987 delayed the move, Thomas had a career year, hitting .252 with 13 HR and 68 RBI, although he walked only 14 times while striking out 95 times. The Dominican also led NL shortstops in double plays, but tied for the lead in errors.

Thomas hit .213 in full-time duty in 1989, and played in just 84 games in ’90, batting a paltry .219. He finished his career with 301 strikeouts against just 59 walks.
