Eric Tipton

Tipton, an All-American footballer at Duke and a Rose Bowl star, skipped a pro-football career to sign with Connie Mack‘s Athletics in 1939. During WWII he had his only ML success, hitting .288 and .301 as a regular outfielder with the Reds.
