Olmedo Saenz

Saenz was drafted by the White Sox in 1990 and spent all of his first eight seasons in the minor league system except for a cup of coffee in 1994. It wasn’t until 1999, when he made the Oakland A’s out of spring training, that Saenz spent significant time in the majors. Although he got off to a hot start, the Panamanian had trouble finding a regular spot in Oakland with Eric Chavez ensconced at third and a bevy of DHes on the roster.
