HG Salsinger

Salsinger started with the Cincinnati Post in 1907, and two years later began 49 years as sports editor of the Detroit News. Likely to smoke half a cigar and chew on the other half while watching an athletic contest, Salsinger was called the best sportswriter in the country by Westbrook Pegler. In 1968, he posthumously received the J.G. Taylor Spink Award.
