From 1926 to 1933 Sherman churned out an average of five books a year, including adventure and sports books for boys such as Hit by Pitcher, Bases Full, and Safe in 1928, Batter Up in 1930, and Double Play and Other Baseball Stories in 1932. He also wrote two plays, a screenplay, and many nonfiction books on ESP and other subjects.
