Duke Sims

The lefty-hitting catcher had good home run power, belting 18 in 1969 and 23 in 1970 as a platoon player with Cleveland. In 1971 the Indians dealt him to the Dodgers, who sold him to Detroit in August of the next year. Normally a low-average hitter, Sims’s .316 down the stretch helped the Tigers to the 1972 division title.
