Beginning in 1945, Steadman spent nine years with the Baltimore News-Post and Sunday American, and three years as assistant GM and PR director of the Baltimore Colts before becoming sports editor of the News-American until the paper ‘s death in 1985. He then became a columnist for the Baltimore Evening Sun.
