This London-born caterer to crowds at racetracks, ball parks, and arenas began by selling scorecards in Ohio. He moved to New York and won the right to sell scorecards at the Polo Grounds, which led to handling all concessions. When the grandstand burned in 1911, he advanced the money to John T. Brush to rebuild it. His company eventually operated concessions from New York to Mexico.
