Tom Sturdivant

Using a fastball, slider, and knuckleball, Sturdivant won 16 games for the Yankees in both 1956 and 1957. In the 1956 WS, won by New York, he six-hit the Dodgers in Game Four to pull the Yankees even at two games each. After a sore arm in 1958, he worked as a journeyman with several clubs. On May 31, 1964, his final ML season, he was one of four Met relievers who held the Giants scoreless through 19-2/3 innings before New York finally lost in the 23rd.
