Red Badgro

Like Jim Thorpe, Ernie Nevers, and George Halas, Badgro made more of a name for himself as a football player than a baseball player. An end who had starred at the University of Southern California, he played with all three New York football teams, the Yankees, Giants, and Dodgers, from 1927 to 1936. In 1981 he was the oldest man ever elected to the Professional Football Hall of Fame.

In baseball, he hit a powerless .284 in 1929 and dropped to .239 in 1930.
