Jose Bautista

After seven years in the Mets system, the Dominican right-hander was drafted by the Orioles. He moved into Baltimore’s rotation in 1988, posting a 6-15 record with a 4.30 ERA over 33 games, including 25 starts.

Bautista never fulfilled the promise of his rookie season, however, and didn’t achieve any notable success until resurfacing as a reliever with Cubs in 1993. In 58 games, all but seven out of the bullpen, Bautista won 10 games with a 2.82 ERA in 111 2/3 innings. After another year with Chicago, Bautista spent two seasons with San Francisco (6.44 ERA in 1995, 3.36 in 1996) and then finished his career with 32 games for Detroit and St. Louis in 1997.
