Juan Beniquez

Versatile and dependable off the bench, Beniquez fared best late in his career, batting .300 four straight years (1983-86) when he was used primarily against lefthanded pitchers. He was a shortstop in the minors, and set a modern ML record with six errors there in two consecutive games for Boston in 1972. The Red Sox converted him to an outfielder, and he won a Gold Glove with Texas in 1977. Beniquez played for eight different AL clubs, an all-time record.
