Sheriff Blake

Blake was the second of three Cubs relievers (and the losing pitcher) during the famous seventh inning of Game Four of the 1929 WS, when the A’s rallied for ten runs to overcome an 8-0 deficit. For most of his career he was a solid starter for the Cubs, with all but 6 of his 87 career wins coming in a Chicago uniform, including a 17-11 season in 1928.
