Ken Boswell

Known for his “bad hands” when he broke in with the Mets, Boswell made three errors on Opening Day, 1969. But in 1970, he set the major-league fielding mark for second basemen (.996) and played a then-record 85 consecutive errorless games. Always a platoon player, he tied a record with three pinch hits in the 1973 World Series. His career-high .279 BA came in the Mets’ 1969 championship season.
