Bradley was a multi-tooled prospect coming up with the Montreal Expos, but questions of his maturity and ability to control his temper hindered his development with the club. In late July 2001, he was traded to the Cleveland Indians for pitcher Zach Day, with the hope that he would be the eventual replacement for Kenny Lofton in center field.
