Jones was a smart, strong-armed outfielder and an adept base stealer who collected 84 stolen bases in three seasons as a Senators regular. He was replaced in Washington’s outfield by Clyde Milan, who remained for 15 years. Jones lasted one more year after his 1907 trade to the Browns.
