Sherman Jones

Hard-throwing but wild, the 6’4″ Jones was one of a record eight pitchers used by the Reds against the Yankees in the fifth and final game of the 1961 World Series. The Mets’ starter in their first-ever home game (4/13/62), he was 0-4 that year before recurring arm problems finished him.
