Lahoud was rushed to the Red Sox from Class A in 1968 to replace the injured Tony Conigliaro in right field, but had trouble hitting curves. Although he surpassed the league BA only once (in 1974 with .271) in 11 seasons of platooning, his power produced seasons of 14, 12, and 13 homers in 1971-74. He hit three in one game for the Red Sox on June 11, 1969.
