Mike Maddux

The older brother of Cubs pitcher Greg Maddux, Mike went 3-7, 5.42 as a rookie in 1986 and spent most of 1987 at Maine (International League). He relieved more often than he started in 1988, compiling a respectable 3.76 ERA.

From that point on, the journeyman hurler made his living as a middle reliever, spending his best years in San Diego, where he compiled a 2.42 ERA and notched 10 saves from 1991-92.

When he pitched against Greg on September 29, 1986, it marked the first time in major-league history that brothers had faced each other as rookies.
