Arthur Richman

The brother of Milt Richman, Arthur was a sportswriter with the New York Mirror for 21 years. When it folded in 1963, he joined the Mets as director of promotions and public relations. As traveling secretary, he received a half share of the 1986 WS pool. When he was given only a quarter LCS share in 1988, he blasted Mets players for the insult, claiming they came to him “like children with their stupid requests; when they get in jail they call me at 4 A.M. to get them out. Next time they can sit there.” He then began working for the Yankees.
