Bill Dawley

Acquired from the Reds by Houston in 1983, Dawley was an All-Star as a rookie that year, saving 14 games. An imposing 6’4″ 240-lb fastball-slider pitcher, he followed with a league-high 11 relief wins and a 1.93 ERA in 1984. But he suffered with tendinitis in 1985, was released the following spring, and spent each of the next three years with different clubs.
