Parsons was the number-two starter for the last-place Brewers, going 13-17, 3.20 in 1971 and 13-13, 3.91 in 1972. He was named TSN’s AL Rookie Pitcher of the Year for his 1971 effort, and was runner-up to Chris Chambliss in the BBWAA vote for Rookie of the Year.
