Bruce Kison

Slender, 6’4″, baby-faced Bruce Kison gained quick notoriety in Game Four of the 1971 World Series, the first night game in Series history. The rookie Pirate relieved Luke Walker in the first inning with two out and three runs in. He hit a Series record three batters but allowed the Orioles only one hit in 6-1/3 innings to win 4-3. The injury-prone pitcher became known both for brushback pitches and quality stretch-run performances. He tied a record with four wins in LCS play.
