Bud Stewart

Stewart led the NL in pinch hits (10) as a Pirate rookie, but he slumped the next season and blamed Pirate manager Frankie Frisch‘s constant carping. After three years in the military and time in the minors, he returned to the ML at 31 in 1948 with the Yankees, who traded him to the Senators after six games. After three years in Washington, he was traded to the White Sox, where he led the AL in pinch hits (9) in 1951.
