Claude Jonnard

A slender, curveballing reliever, Jonnard led the NL in saves in 1922 and 1923 and tied Giant teammate Rosy Ryan for the league lead in appearances (45) in 1923. With those two in the bullpen, New York won pennants from 1922 through 1924. An .056 lifetime hitter, the Tennesseean’s twin brother was Clarence “Bubber” Jonnard.
