Dayton Marcos

The Dayton Marcos club was a charter member of Rube Foster‘s original Negro National League in 1920. After a dismal finish near the bottom of the league, the Dayton Marcos dropped out of the league and turned to independent play. In 1926 made a second attempt at competing in black baseball’s big time and rejoined the Negro National League. Unfortunately, the club performed no better than it had in 1920, finishing just barely above the last place Cleveland Elites in the cellar of the NNL.
